About Villy Safe Home

A free, guided way to see how ready a home is to keep someone safe and independent.

Villy Safe Home is a free, guided way to see how ready a home is to keep someone safe and independent — one room at a time. It's part of Nayberly, a family of tools built for the people quietly caring for the ones they love, often while running their own lives from a distance.

What we're building

Nayberly is a connected ecosystem of caregiving and aging-in-place tools. Villy, our caregiving coordination platform, helps families see what's happening and share the load. Villy Safe Home is the piece focused on the home itself: a clear, calm starting point for understanding what makes a home safer to grow older in.

We believe the best time to look is before anything goes wrong — because right now is before.

This is a starting point, not the finish line

Villy Safe Home is meant to put you in control of the things you can manage yourself — the small, specific changes that quietly make a home safer. It's a place to begin, to see clearly, and to make steady progress at your own pace.

It is not a professional home assessment, and it's not meant to replace one. If you have access to the resources, we strongly encourage you to also work with a professional — an occupational therapist (OT) or a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) — who can evaluate a home in person and tailor recommendations to a specific person's needs. A good assessment can catch things a questionnaire never will.

How to find a professional

  • Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS): Search the National Association of Home Builders' CAPS directory at nahb.org to find a specialist near you.
  • Occupational therapist (OT): The American Occupational Therapy Association at aota.org can help you find a practitioner; look for someone with home-modification or home-safety experience.
  • Can't find someone locally or worried about cost? Your local Area Agency on Aging, or a Home Builders Association in your area, can often point you to help — and some communities have home-modification programs for older adults.

Please loop in a doctor

Everyone's health and abilities are different, and they change over time. Before making decisions about mobility, independence, or significant home changes, please talk with your own doctor — or your loved one's — especially if there have been recent falls, new diagnoses, or changes in vision, memory, or balance. This tool offers general educational guidance; it is not medical advice.

Built by someone who needed it

Villy Safe Home wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built by a founder caring for her own parents — trying to keep them safe in the home they love, often from a distance, without always knowing what was going on. It's the tool she wished she'd had: a way to see what a home needs, stay ahead of it, and share the load with the people who care. We built it because no one should have to do this alone.

Right now is before.
